Health Plan
The Board of Trustees of the Equity-League Health Trust Fund has approved several major changes to the Health Plan. These changes are being made to safeguard the long-term viability of the Fund. In 13 states (including NY, NJ, CT, FL, IL, CA) participants may choose an HMO (Health Maintenance Organization) plan. There is an "Open Enrollment" period in May every year, during which participants may change plans. How many weeks must I work in order to qualify for employer-paid health coverage? In order to qualify for plan eligibility, you must have at least 12 weeks of covered employment in the previous four quarters (12 months) to qualify for SIX (6) months of coverage. If you attain 20, or more weeks of covered employment in the previous four quarters (12 months), you will qualify for TWELVE (12) months of coverage. Participants are evaluated for health coverage eligibility four times per year.
